Peak Oil and the Infinite Growth Monetary Paradigm Conference in NYC on June 1 2014

infographic_peak_waterAbstract:The root cause of the greatest problems confronting the world today – climate Change, food shortages, unrest, pollution, resource wars – may be traced back to the way money works: An economy based on infinite growth is not possible on a finite planet. Peak Oil is the theory first put forth in 1956 by Shell geologist M. King Hubbert that the world would see peak production of oil around 1995. Because of subsequent events in the Middle East which he could not have predicted, he was off by a decade or so. But our dependence on oil, not only for transportation but also for food production and the fueling of the global economy, means that as oil becomes more difficult to extract, the economy must not simply turn to an alternative (there are no equivalents) it must reform to a sustainable paradigm.
